It’s been a looooooong time since we last went to a theme park, but even married, in our late twenties/early thirties and holding down serious jobs roller coasters are still crazy fun!

summer finally here?
11May08not sure if the summer is here to stay, but we are definitely making the most of the sunshine that we’ve been having these past few days. we’re lucky to have so many green spaces close to where we live, so we packed a picnic and went off to Lee Valley Park
Could have spent the whole day there…. but at least it was enough time to recharge the batteries before another long week at work…
It’s now just over two years since a couple of momentous things occured in the life of the Afnan-Murrays. One was the transformation of our website into it current form and the other was the marriage of our close friends Janita and Hamish. Their island wedding on Mauritius was among the first things we blogged about two years ago. It’s hard to belive how time has flown by, so to help remind us of those fond memories this past weekend we arranged a little reunion of some of our friends who we had so much fun hanging out with and getting to know better in the idyllic setting of a beach by the Indian Ocean. Unfortunately we have no such settings here in sunny London, but on a 20+ degree Saturday we met up at traditional English village pub in a very green area called Totteridge. It was great to see everyone again and to look through some albums from wedding.
4 days off
27Apr08well my 4 days off work started out with the best of intentions, and I made a long list of things that I wanted to do, but it didn’t seem to work out the way I wanted. I have lots of projects on the go, and recently I feel the need to get some of them completed, so that I can start some new things, maybe take some classes, and generally be more productive with my days! didn’t quite work out that way though. I have to go back to work tomorrow and I don’t feel like I made any progress with my list.
the first day at least I went into town and had a nice walk in Hyde Park, while the weather was sunny. Good job I went when I did as it was pouring with rain an hour later, and a pretty big thunderstorm. Of course as is the case with London, it didn’t stay like that for the rest of the day! I took my camera with me hoping to get some good shots but I wasn’t feeling very creative…
The rest of the weekend was spent getting the car serviced, spring cleaning, lunch with friends and attempting to sort my life out!
Still I have a fairly quiet week, and have set a deadline of end of May to get things finished. Hopefully then I can start the summer with a clean slate!
