Its always been one of the nicest things to have friends from our time in Haifa visiting, and right now one of our closest friends Andre is in town for the next few months. Today we were tourists in our own town, and after a delicious breakfast at the home of Marco and Laura Milone, we headed into town, and despite the bitterly cold wind managed to get a lot of sightseeing done! The Tate Modern was, as always, as random as ever. I’ve never really understood a lot of modern art, and the current piece that is generating most discussion seems to be The Crack, by a Columbian artist, Doris Salcedo. It is currently part of a gigantic installation and will be there until the beginning of April. Honestly I don’t get it. After that we went for a nice walk in the brisk cold along the South Bank, and then jumped on a river cruise towards Westminster Pier. Sometimes we need visitors here to allow us to be tourists in our own city! The cruise was worth it if only for the commentary along the way….

The Crack is a piece of ‘artwork’??!! Dear god, it’s just getting more and more ridiculous!! I thought it was from some earthquake that I had never heard of occurring!
