You have to imagine those words being said in the way that Christopher Lambert said “I’m Connor McLeod, of the Clan McLeod” in The Highlander film.
So after some 14 years living in the UK I have finally made it to Scotland, the home of my distant ancestors. More specifically I am in Edinburgh, a place I have wanted to visit for a long time. It’s only a pity I am here for work, which means that one afternoon/evening in the city is all I’ve had. However, it was enough time to see why Edinburgh is a place always fondly recalled by its visitors. As soon as I left the railway station the historic feel of the town centre imposed itself on me and I felt rather in awe of the place. It seems somewhat like it’s from another era, long left behind by most other British urban centres. Anyone who knows my passion for European history and architecture will appreciate why I immediately set about exploring the place while I still could.
Tomorrow morning I must awake early to teach the Scottish employees of Aon how to use a programme called SalesForce.com which you have to imagine being said in the broadest American sales accents. After that I’m off on Leg Two of my travels to Glasgow where I hope to learn more about the Clan Murray and what inheritance rights if any I have to these so-called cadet houses we owned once upon a time.
Stay with me as I tour the upper reaches of this land we call Britain!

come home!!!
Sigh…yes, Edinburgh is definitely one of my favoritest places on Earth!
