We headed out this evening to Liverpool Street to meet a couple of friends, Hoda and Naseem, for dinner at an Italian chain restaurant in London called Strada. Don’t be deceived by the fact its a chain, it is in actualy fact really good food and serves less well-known sorts of Italian cuisine, proving that its not just about pasta and pizza as scrumptious as those things may be. Even better was the fact that having booked through toptable.co.uk, we were getting 50% off the bill! Three courses it is then! It was a very enjoyable night and although we arrived a little early, we were very pleased and impressed to be kept occupied by a couple of street performers. These weren’t your everyday buskers churning out golden oldies, but apparently a couple of fellow Kiwis doing what they called Streetboxing. Of course, I’m not referring to anything that involved fists, but rather one guy who could beatbox with the best, and mimmick pretty much any imaginable instrument, combined a with an angelic voiced female MC. Together they are streetboxers.co.uk. We liked them so much we actually bought their cd, and there were no shortage of other punters either! One of the reasons you have to love London, this kinda stuff doesn’t just happen anywhere…
