Most tantalisingly the answer is Ghormeh Sabzi pie! To my great disappointment I learned of its existence too late to sample what must be a considered a rare delicacy. What in the world am I talking about you may wonder? Well…in the name of football fever a certain pie shop within proximity of my office known as Square Pie came up with the most wonderous idea that is the Pie World Cup! That’s right people, they concocted pie recipes for every nation competing at this year’s World Cup selling them on the specific days those teams would be playing and using the real competition fixtures to pit one country against another in what can only be described as a pie sell off. True genius! Sadly the Iranian Ghromeh Sabzi pie was knocked out at the group stages after failing to see of the stiff competition provided by Portugal’s Piri Piri Chicken Pie, Mexico’s Chilli Con Carne Pie and Angola’s Calulu Pie. So I’m afraid I’ll have to wait another four years in the hope that Iran will qualify for the World Cup again just so I can try a Ghormeh Sabzi Pie!

I wonder if the pie from Ghana is something that Esther Kumi will even approve of . . .
