…it would have to be a Lamborghini Countach Quattrovalvole edition in silver with a spoiler. Sadly, I am unlikely to ever be so lucky, but working in Canary Wharf does permit me the opportunity to dream of such things a little. Every year around the end of May, Canary Wharf hosts a Motor Expo which as you can imagine makes a lot of sense when half the people who work there are investment bankers that earn well into six figure salaries. For the more humble employees like me its simply a chance to gawp at a selection of the world’s finest sports cars…Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Chevrolet and Maserati to name but a few.
While browsing these fine feats of engineering I was quite amused to be on the receiving end of a sales pitch for a sport car clubs. See www.ecurie25.co.uk. There I was jaw agape and tongue rolled on the floor taking in the site of a black Lamborghini Gallardo while some dapper suited fellow started enquiring about my interest in cars and whether I’d ever driven anything particularly high-end before. He then began telling me how for an £8,000 annual subscription fee I could drive up to twelve different supercars a year over 30-40 days depending on how played it. Intrigued as I was, I couldn’t help dwelling on the irony of it all, little did this fellow know that though I have long been a sports car enthusiast, that I had only passed my driving test in January and was the proud owner of a Peugeot 206.
Well anyway, I took a few pics just in case anyone else wanted to revel in there fantasy car dreams…oh and btw, if you could have any car in the world what would it be?
